CO-OP Restaurant & Lounge, located within The Study at University City, is seeking a motivated and skilled Line Cook to join our culinary team. This role is responsible for preparing high-quality menu items while delivering consistent execution and supporting a collaborative kitchen environment.

The ideal candidate is curious, eager to learn, and passionate about developing their knowledge of cooking techniques in a guest-focused hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and chef standards.
• Follow direction from culinary leadership and work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Set up and break down assigned stations, including detailed cleaning of work areas.
• Maintain consistency and quality of all food items.
• Understand menu items, ingredients, and allergy considerations.
• Communicate effectively with front-of-house team members regarding menu items.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
• Assist team members as needed to ensure efficient kitchen operations.

Fundamentals

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a fine dining or upscale casual environment.
• Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency in English required; a second language is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift or carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods in a kitchen environment.
