Designed as a comfortable and welcoming gathering place, it’s where guests can relax, connect, and enjoy exceptional food and drink in a thoughtful, well-crafted space.

Key Responsibilities:
- Create a warm and inviting bar experience that reflects the charm and comfort of a traditional British tavern.
- Provide exceptional hospitality through attentive and personalized service, ensuring every guest feels valued.
- Prepare classic and innovative cocktails while offering expert recommendations on beer, wine, and spirits.
- Foster a relaxed yet refined atmosphere where guests can connect and enjoy themselves.
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of our menu and beverage offerings, staying curious and informed.
- Ensure the bar and lounge areas are clean, organized, and inviting.
- Collaborate with team members to uphold the high standards of Truth Be Told and The Study at University of Chicago.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED preferred. Experience: 2+ years of bartending experience in fine dining, upscale casual, or similar environments.
- A passion for service and a genuine love of hospitality, with an emphasis on creating memorable experiences.
- Friendly, engaging personality with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of cocktails, beer, and wine, with a willingness to continually learn and improve.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and care.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
- Proficiency in English; additional language skills are a plus.
- Food handlers and Basset certificates.
