The Study at University of Chicago is currently seeking a FT Public Attendant to create a clean and comfortable experience for both guests and associates. This position is primarily responsible for conducting regular deep cleaning of public areas and the back of house.
 
Wage: 23.43

Essential Duties:
  • Perform a regular deep clean of all public areas and back of house areas.
  • Move furniture and deep clean, scrub, mop and/or vacuum various areas in the building.
  • Shampoo/vacuum carpets and sofas.
  • Perform other duties if required and as assigned, as stated above, may not be inclusive of every task needed to achieve results.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Dust all common area furniture, baseboards, pictures, drawers, light fixtures, window ledges, and elevator landings.
  • Deep clean employee breakroom, cupboards, and refrigerator.
  • Deep clean guest and back of house elevators and tracks.
  • Deep cleaning guest and employee washrooms, restocking supplies like soaps, lotions, toilet paper, paper towels and
  • Empty trash receptacles the property and move collected garbage to the main disposal area.
  • Wipe windows, glass entryways and mirrors to keep them free of smudges.
  • Deep clean hotel entryways to provide a clean guest experience.
  • Provide a polite, welcoming demeanor to guests, answering questions about hotel amenities, and occasionally delivering requested items to rooms.
  • Assist other team members to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and the hotel.
  • Identify and report any facility damages or broken equipment to the maintenance or management team.
  • Under the direction of the Housekeeping Manager, the Housekeeping Public Attendant is responsible for following company standards, safety, and security procedures.
  • Must be able to maintain a safe and clean work environment.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
  • HS Diploma or Equivalent Required

Certification(s) or License:
  •   Copy of DD214, if Veteran status

Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times.
  • Ability to positively communicate and interact with all hotel departments.
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, including follow-up, time management, ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift/push 75 lbs.
  • Proficiency in English preferred.


Physical:
  • Ability to grasp, lift and or carry, or otherwise, move goods weighing 75 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods indoors with a thematically climate-controlled workstation.
  • Study Hotels is a drug-free workplace.

Other: 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Satisfactory completion of background check.
